Hoop Mountain will again be putting on the NY Metro Championship at the Island Garden and several of our nearby facilities. This has developed into one of the most attractive tournaments in the New York area.

This year we have close to 90 teams playing in four age divisions.

We still have a limited number of openings in the 14, 15 and 16U age groups. Contact Greg Kristof at 978-922-3350 if you are interested.

We will be posting the Playoff Pools on Tuesday. One team from each pool will advance to a single elimination playoff.

The Thundercats won yet another Spring League Championship on May 24. They outlasted the Island Garden Free Agent team in a closely contested battle. This is the 5th Championship for the Thudercats and they will be returning two teams for the Island Garden Hoop Dreamzzz Summer League.

We will again be hosting the premier Men's Baketball League on Long Island. The HOOP DREAMZZ SUMMER LEAGUE was originally founded by Tm Cluess and played out of St. Mary's High School. Aproximately ten years ago it moved to Island Garden where it has remained since. We have had NBA stars, top college players, some of the best rec players around as well as highly motivated adult players. We break the league down into three Divisions (Elite, Competitive and B levels).

The league will begin on July 2 and continue until the third week of August. It is comprised of an 8 game schedule and playoffs (for teams that finish .500 and above).

This league has sold out each of the past seven years.

Since 1999, the Island Garden and Lightning have operated the summer league based at Island Garden and other surrounding facilities. We have been very fortunate in having attracted over 100 teams each year ranging in age from 4th grade through high school for boys and girls. This summer, we will continue that tradition but with a new name.

QFIVE is an exciting new idea in the world of sports. It is a social platform that connects players, coaches, experts and administrators of all levels so that information can flow freely among everyone involved in the great game of basketball. We here at Island Garden and Lightning believe strongly in this new concept and want to do whatever we can to promote QFIVE in its introductory stage. We therefore are not only making it the name sponsor of our summer league but we will also be publicizing the highlights and announcements on the QFIVE platform so that the many people involved in our summer league can also be introduced to QFIVE. Full information as to how to sign on to this tremendous free offering appears below. In fact, we are offering a $25.00 discount to any team that is registered with QFIVE!

The QFIVE Summer League invites all high school, Super League, AAU, CYO and independent teams to participate. It will consist of a ten game schedule with playoff eligibility (win 50% of your games and you are in). Games will be played at Island Garden, St. Dominic HS and Fundamental Sports. We are also planning a  NYC Division that will be played at Queens College.

UPDATE AS OF MAY 15: We are forced to cancel the Girls Training Sessions that were being held on Tuesdays due to poor turnout. Any girls who are still interested can join the boys groups on Fridays.

ALSO ----- there will be no boys session this coming Friday, May 18. That training will resume on May 25.

We as the leaders of Lightning and FE Hoops recognize that one of our primary responsibilities is to provide the best possible training for our players. In our efforts to reach that goal, we are initiating an exciting and what we believe will be a unique and highly effective program that will reach and teach every player who wants to improve his/her game.

The Spring League is more than half finished. The competition is terrific and the teams are fighting for a spot in the playoffs which are tentatively set to begin on June 19.
